Shuttle Services
If you are staying at a hotel in Hawaii, you can check beforehand if they provide shuttle services to and from your hotel and airport. Most of the major hotels will provide this service free of charge or for a nominal fee. At the airports, you will be able to contact your hotel or an independent operator for shuttle services. Remember, these shuttle transports will mostly service between hotels and airports only. If you are looking to travel to a residential area or the university, you may want to look at other options. Some independent shuttle companies are listed below.

Taxis
Each airport has a designated taxi lane/s. Uber and Lyft are also transportation options in many of Hawaiis airports.
Public Transportation
Unfortunately, you will find that the smaller islands (Lanai, Molokai, Kauai) do not have a solid public transportation infrastructure. The following are for the islands that do have a developed public transportation systems. The only recommendation we can make currently is for Maui. Please visit thebus.org for more information.
Rental Car Options Near Universities
In our opinion, the best option would be Enterprise Car Rentals. They will drive the vehicle to your desired location and collect it there when you are done as well. However, Kauai has a limited number of Enterprise locations, so your best bet may be to find a different provider in Kauai.
As a service to the younger community, we offer no extra charge for drivers under 25 through Enterprise and Thrifty.
